lighting installation and fire alarm system no matter how small.
This is stipulated in section 12 of BS5266 Part 1:2005 (code
of practice, clause 12.3) and is also a requirement of BS EN
50172: 2004/BS5266 Part 8: 2004 "Emergency escape lighting
systems". Systems must be tested and maintained by their
owners. Every time a contractor buys emergency lights or PL
downlights and modular fluorescent with emergency conversion
kits, they need to supply a log book to their customer to comply
with section 12 of BS5266. Now
